Introduction
In the past decades the use of private military and security companies (PMSCs) has been on the rise. Recent examples are the role of the Wagner group in the Russian invasion of Ukraine or the use of Blackwater (nowadays part of Constellis) by the US in Iraq. The use of PMSCs in active warzones is mostly considered illegal by international law. The committee should discuss the role of these companies and the liabilities for the states that make use of their services.
