The United Nations Human Rights Council is an inter-governmental body responsible for promoting and protecting human rights around the world. The Human Rights Council discusses all thematic human rights issues and situations that require its attention, addresses situations of human rights violations, and makes recommendations. It was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2006.

Rules of Procedure
The Human Rights Council follows the standard Rules of Procedure, which means it is not an ad-hoc committee
