The Historical Committee focusses on the period leading up to and after the outbreak of the First World War. Delegates will represent one of the seven major powers in Europe and have to earn victory points. This can be done by achieving military success or reaching political and diplomatic goals. The committee’s focus lies on lobbying and negotiating. It is suitable for both first-time and more experienced delegates who are interested in history and prepared to do elaborate preparation.
Delegates will be provided with a summary of the Rules of Procedure, adapted from the serious board game Diplomacy and a reader with (academic) articles as a primer of the research.
Students who want to participate in the Historical Committee can apply using this form.
